Education is a continuous life long process. Today,
we are living in the era of Information Technology and
it is necessity of the society that its members should
possess technological literacy. I.T. can significantly
change every aspect of our lives including education
making it a better experience for the teacher and
learners as well.
Information Technology can enable us to have Anytime -
Anywhere - Collaborative Learning, access to variety of
learining resources in the subjects of individual's
interest, better tools for education of children and
person with disabilities and much more.
I.T. has shrinked the world and everything get closed to
eachother that never before with revolutionary trends like
e-mail, chat, forum, blogs etc. No more people are now searching
for information but they are googling it. We must
promote utilization of digital techniques in traditional methods
of teaching so as to make effective changes into them, making
them more fruitful. Studies in Psychology of Learning suggest
that the use of Audio-Visuals in education can improve
perception leading to higher processes of memory and concept
formation. It's known that more information is taken in if it is
received simultaneously in two modalities (Audio-Visual) rather
than one.
Considering all these facts, we must get ready to
adopt new methodologies of teaching - learning process
as the information society is challanging the education
system.
